Frequently Asked Questions

Is my membership fee tax-deductible?

Yes. In most cases, membership fees paid to a professional body or business association are considered a wholly and exclusively business-related expense. For Ltd Companies it can be deducted from total income before Corporation Tax; for Sole Traders it can be claimed as an allowable expense in your Self-Assessment return. We always recommend consulting your accountant for advice tailored to your situation.

No. We are a Non-Profit Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG). While we do not operate for profit, we are a professional business organisation rather than a charitable one. This structure allows us greater freedom to engage in advocacy and lobbying for our members' interests without the strict restrictions placed on registered charities.

As a non-profit, we operate under an "Asset Lock" principle: 100% of our surplus income is reinvested into the Association to fund professional networking events and workshops, educational resources and insights for members, advocacy work to represent Hungarian businesses before UK authorities, and operational costs (website, compliance and administration).

Absolutely. Upon payment our system automatically generates a professional invoice/receipt that meets HMRC requirements. You can use this for your VAT records (if applicable) and annual accounts.

Yes. We believe in the value we provide, but we understand that business circumstances change. You can cancel your membership at any time as per our Terms and Conditions. A 30-day notice period is usually required for Direct Debit cancellations.
